Project Description
Logistics performance is a measurement of how efficient logistics is in enabling the flow of goods from suppliers to manufacturers and consumers, ensuring that the right products are delivered in the right amount and at the right time. It has been broadly acknowledged that a highly efficient logistics performance is essential to achieve competitiveness at both the supply chain and the country level.
The overall objective of project is to develop a methodology to assess the logistics performance in Freight Logistics Chains (FLC) in Latin American and the Caribbean Countries.
The specific objectives include:
- Review methodologies for supply chain and FLC analysis
- Identify quantitative logistics performance indicators in FLCs
- Develop a method for data collection and data analysis
- Benchmarking
- Design methodology for cross-sector and/or cross-country comparison; and ensure the effectiveness, applicability, and comparability of the methodology by testing it in three pilot FLCs (México, República Dominicana y Colombia
- Develop methodology for identifying best practices
