Dr. Alfonso de Miguel Arribas

Researcher at Zaragoza Logistics Center

Dr. Alfonso de Miguel Arribas has been a researcher at ZLC since late 2024 in the area of Resilience, Security, and Risk Management in Supply Chains.

Dr. de Miguel Arribas holds a degree in Physics from the University of Zaragoza, a Master’s in Physics of Complex Systems from UNED, and earned his Ph.D. in Physics in March 2024, also from the University of Zaragoza. His doctoral work was conducted at the IUI BIFI (Institute for Biocomputation and Physics of Complex Systems) under an FPI pre-doctoral contract and focused on modeling the spread of epidemics. After completing his Ph.D., he continued working at BIFI within the COSNET research group as a junior postdoctoral collaborator until joining ZLC.

During his Ph.D., Dr. de Miguel Arribas gained knowledge and experience in network theory, stochastic simulations of dynamic systems, epidemic modeling, human mobility, evolutionary game theory, and data-driven science. He has participated in several international conferences and completed research stays at prestigious centers such as the MIT Media Lab.

Dr. de Miguel Arribas is now applying his previous experience working with socio-technical complex systems to the field of logistics and supply chains, focusing on resilience and risk assessment.
