Redefining inventory management for global supply chains
Advanced Inventory Management
Our research line in Advanced Inventory Management focuses on designing optimal policies for procurement, storage, and distribution, integrating key variables such as uncertainty, cost, seasonality, and sustainability.
At ZLC, we work to enhance the performance of global supply chains through mathematical modeling, simulations, and applied analytical tools.
Our research has a strong practical orientation: it begins in the classroom, develops in the laboratory, and is implemented in industry. The outcomes of this group have a strong impact, particularly in sectors such as automotive, retail, energy, and large-scale distribution—where inventory decisions make the difference in profitability and competitiveness.

The aim of the project is to put in place a cross-sectoral and cross-technological initiative at European level to increase integration between production and distribution proposing research and innovation priorities for the future of supply chain. In particular, the project will develop a Strategic Research Agenda (SRA), where the effort of different communities like EFFRA, […]

INSPIRE aims at increasing the competitiveness of European manufacturing which depends on producing differentiated and high added value products in an efficient and sustainable manner, with reduced production costs, increased product quality, minimised time to market and optimized strategies towards resource efficiency. The main focus of this project is the development of innovative business models […]
