Aragón at the European Forum of Logistic Clusters

256 participants have attended this first edition of the European Forum ofLogistic Clusters, whose goal is to share knowledge and to stimulate thecollaboration between the logistic clusters in Europe

Brussels (Belgium), 15th October

The region of Aragón through ALIA, AREX, Cámaras Aragón, ITAINNOVA and ZLC, co-organized the first EuropeanForum of Logistic clusters, which took place in Brussels on 14th and15th October. This event is the final event for three European projects:SoCool@EU, LOG4GREEN y LOG2020, all of them co-financed by the 7th FP.

The principal aim of this international event was to identify newopportunities of collaboration between the European regions that foster innovation and development in order to contribute to the economicgrowth in the logistic sector.

The first day focused on giving a general vision oflogistic clusters, as well as on identifying characteristics andexposing problems that may affect them.

As Keir Fitch, the Head of Unit – Research and Innovative Transport Systems – DG MOVE said

“Without logistics, the European market would not exist”.

This declaration was also endorsed by Jakob Stoumann, The Head of department – Regional development, Innovation, Clustering and Competence – Oxford Research who assured that

“Clusters are one of the most suitable tools to face the challenges ofthe logistic sector”.

Divided into several parallel meetings led by relevant professionals of thesector, the second day of the forum focused on analyzing theseproblems which could affect logistic clusters and discussed variouspossible solutions.

Additionally, the event included a poster session, a regionalexhibition and individual meetings with the goal of stimulatingcollaboration between participants.

Experts from companies, universities, research institutions and public and administration during the parallel sessions.
