Zaragoza, November 12, 2025 – The Board of Trustees of the Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) Foundation, which met this week at the Pignatelli Building, headquarters of the Government of Aragon, has approved its action plan for the 2026 fiscal year during a meeting marked by key decisions and strategic developments for the future of the center.
Among the most significant milestones is the incorporation of Inditex as a new member of the foundation’s Board of Trustees, following the recent amendment of its statutes that allows new companies and organizations to join the governing body. The addition of the global textile group—an international benchmark in logistics, with one of its main global distribution centers located in the Zaragoza Logistics Platform (PLAZA), further strengthens ZLC’s ties with industry and consolidates its position as a leading international institution in logistics and supply chain management education and research.

“The incorporation of a global leader such as Inditex marks a decisive step in the foundation’s evolution toward a more open, collaborative model connected to the real needs of the sector. Our commitment is to continue generating knowledge, talent, and innovation for a more digital, sustainable, and competitive logistics ecosystem,” said Isabel Nuez, Managing Director of ZLC.

During the same session, the Board approved the 2026 action plan and officially presented the new corporate website – www.zlc.edu.es, the center’s digital gateway that enhances its international projection and its role as a platform for attracting global talent. The new portal provides an integrated view of ZLC’s academic, research, institutional, and corporate collaboration activities, offering a more accessible, interactive, and community-oriented approach for the international logistics sector.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Government of Aragon, the University of Zaragoza, the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics, and the companies that are members of the Board of Trustees. This edition featured the in-person participation of Dr. Yossi Sheffi, Director of the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics, who reaffirmed ZLC’s role as a strategic hub within the MIT Global SCALE Network, which coordinates the world’s top-ranked master’s program in logistics and supply chain management, according to specialized academic excellence rankings.

The meeting also served to review the progress achieved during this year of transition, marked by the leadership change with the appointments of Isabel Nuez Gracia and Rafael de Miguel González. Key achievements include the adaptation of ZLC’s academic offerings to the new educational framework (LOSU, University of Zaragoza Statutes, SCALE Connect Conference in Boston), the strengthening of the PhD program and the upcoming PhD Summer Academy 2026, as well as the development of new research and corporate collaboration projects.

The Board also highlighted ZLC’s direct involvement and strategic alignment with the Aragon Logistics Strategic Plan 2025–2040, both during its initial drafting phase and in the ongoing public participation process, which positions the region as one of the most dynamic logistics hubs in Southern Europe.
“The 2025–2040 Logistics Strategic Plan identifies as one of its key goals the enhancement of logistics training and talent attraction in Aragon, establishing our region as a leader in innovation, sustainability, and talent. ZLC is fully aligned with that vision and serves as a driving force for knowledge generation and transfer, ensuring that Aragon continues to lead global logistics transformation,” emphasized Rafael de Miguel González, Academic Director of ZLC.
