Over these past months, you have developed an analytical, collaborative, and strategic mindset, and that makes you professionals ready to lead a logistics world that demands resilience, global vision, and commitment. You are part of an international community that tackles problems and situations in unconventional ways, seeking innovative solutions and new perspectives. I am confident that wherever you go, you will leave your mark.ā
The commencement address was delivered by Oliver Geuther, Senior Director and Plant Manager at the Mequinenza site of Procter & Gamble (P&G), one of the worldās largest consumer goods companies, known for brands such as Ariel, Gillette, and Dodot, and for its commitment to sustainability and innovation in the supply chain. Octavio López, Regional Minister of Public Works, Housing, Logistics and Territorial Cohesion, and President of the Zaragoza Logistics Center Foundation, closed the event by highlighting āZLCās decisive contribution to logistics education throughout its more than two decades of history ā a contribution that is more necessary than ever in a region where the commitment to this sector has been absolute and sustained over time by successive regional governments, placing us in a privileged position to keep growing and stay on the path to success.ā
López emphasized that this path will soon reach a new milestone, which the Government of Aragón is already working on through the Directorate-General for Strategic Planning and Logistics, led by Raquel Campos. He was referring to the upcoming International Logistics Congress, which will be held in Zaragoza in 2027 at the Torre del Agua from the Expo, now transformed into the Lighthouse of Logistics. āWe want to be in the global top five in logistics, and this event will help us achieve that ā as will the in-depth study we are finalizing, which will be reflected in a Strategic Logistics Plan for Aragón for the next 15 yearsā, López stated.
After the traditional group photo, the day ended with a reception for attendees.
In recent years, the region of Aragón has established itself as one of the main logistics hubs in Southern Europe, with more than 35,700 professionals, a contribution of nearly 8% to the regional GDP, and over 1 billion euros in logistics investments received in the past year. Leading companies such as Inditex, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Grupo Costa have recently chosen this region, drawn by its capacity for innovation, connectivity, and talent.
ZLC, as a center affiliated with the University of Zaragoza and a member of the MIT Global SCALE Network, acts as a catalyst for this growth, training professionals with an international perspective and leadership skills to face the challenges of digital transformation, sustainability, and operational resilience.
