The research institute affiliated to the University of Zaragoza reinforces its leadership in education and research of international excellence with new directors at the forefront.Zaragoza, May 12, 2025 - Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC), a center supported by the Government of Aragon in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), begins a new chapter with the incorporation of Isabel Nuez Gracia as Managing Director and Rafael de Miguel González as Academic Director.
This management renewal comes at a key moment for Aragon, in full transformation due to the attraction of new global companies linked to data centers and artificial intelligence, industrial digitization, electric mobility and, especially, logistics as strategic axes of economic development. All these new investments reinforce the Aragonese territory as a logistics hub for its geostrategic importance, for its infrastructures, but also for the training, attraction and retention of talent. In this context, ZLC reinforces its commitment to education and research of international excellence as key levers to provide knowledge to this new business ecosystem, in which the management of supply chains plays an increasingly important role in business success, economic growth and the creation of quality employment.
Dr. Isabel Nuez Gracia, an economist with extensive experience in international and EU program management, institutional communication and university education, has developed her career in the field of Industry-University of Zaragoza (FEUZ) collaboration, leading national and international projects and coordinating the Research Transfer Office. For his part, Professor and renowned researcher Dr. Rafael de Miguel González, combines his new position as Academic Director of ZLC with his work as advisor to the Rector of the University of Zaragoza for global initiatives. In addition, he leads strategic entities such as the Confucius Institute or EUROGEO (European Geographical Society), consolidating his profile as a promoter of international knowledge networks.
The experience of both professionals is a key factor in strengthening ZLC's role in the MIT Global Scale Network, ensuring that its ZLOG Master's Degree continues to remain number one in the world according to international rankings, and leading ZLC's strategic positioning, strengthening its role as an international benchmark in logistics, supply chain management, sustainability and digital transformation.
