Zaragoza, November 27, 2025 — Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC) has been recognized with the Logistics Innovation Company Award at the eleventh edition of the Tercer Milenio Awards, organized by Heraldo de Aragón and held yesterday at the Fersa Bearings headquarters before an audience of representatives from Aragón’s scientific, technological, and business ecosystem. The gala, focused on the power of science to inspire and transform Aragón, highlighted projects and organizations that drive applied research, knowledge transfer, and innovation in service of the region’s socio-economic development.
The event emphasized the strategic role of institutions like ZLC, which contribute to positioning Aragón as one of the main logistics hubs in southern Europe and a benchmark in innovation, sustainability, and advanced supply chain management.

The jury particularly valued ZLC’s ability to link excellent academic research with the real needs of industry, its international leadership as a European node of the MIT Global SCALE Network, and its contribution to global talent through educational programs that place the center among the best in the world in logistics and supply chain.
“This recognition highlights the work we do to anticipate the sector’s major challenges, from digitalization to sustainability, and reinforces our mission to transfer knowledge and provide top-quality education both locally and globally. Logistics connects people, companies, and territories, and it is precisely in people where the true transformative power lies: their talent, commitment, and capacity to innovate are the engine that drives us every day,” emphasized Isabel Nuez, Managing Director of ZLC, after receiving the award.

Additionally, Rafael de Miguel, ZLC’s Academic Director, underlined the importance of this recognition for the center’s international projection:“Innovation is the axis that connects our research work with real impact on companies and society. This award recognizes more than two decades of cutting-edge higher education and research by a broad community committed to generating applied knowledge and strengthening Aragón’s position in the global logistics landscape.”
During the ceremony, researchers, laboratories, tech companies, and outreach projects that contribute to strengthening the scientific and innovation ecosystem in the region were also honored. As the organizers noted, this edition focuses on key areas such as the circular economy, health, safety, and the environment, highlighting the role of research in improving people’s lives.

With this new recognition, ZLC reaffirms its commitment to smarter, more sustainable, digital, and resilient logistics, promoting R&D projects, industry-academia collaborations, and international education programs that consolidate Aragón as a reference territory in logistics innovation.
