The MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL) will be well represented with several informative and and engaging sessions at the CSCMP Conference taking place September 30-October 3, 2012, in Atlanta. Dr.Yossi Sheffi will present Logistics Clusters: A Path to Economic Growth and Jobs. In this session Professor Sheffi will outline the main ideas in his newest book: “Logistics Clusters: Delivering Value and Driving Growth” (MIT Press, September 2012). The book demonstrates that logistics clusters provide jobs and economic growth and consequently are part of the solution to the current economic problems. The book also explains the feedback loop that makes them grow and why local governments all over the world are seeding them. It is based on primary research including hundreds of interviews and data collection all over the world. Copies of the book will be available for purchase after the session and also also throughout the conference.

In addition to the aforementioned session, researchers at CTL will be presenting on a number of topics on Monday and Tuesday, including Dr. Sheffi, who will also be featured in the People of Supply Chain session. Visit the events page for more information on all of the MIT CTL CSCMP sessions.

We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta!
