Speaker: Alan Lewis, Director Global Logistics Emissions Council, Smart Freight Centre (SFC)
Alan Lewis is Director of Smart Freight Centre’s Global Logistics Emissions Council. He has taken leading roles in initiatives linked to emissions reduction and supporting the development of freight transport policy and operational improvement; these include representing the UK government on transport-related emissions and urban freight transport to the EU and the International Energy Agency and leading the UK Department for Transport’s research on socio-economic impacts of freight consolidation centers. Alan was previously in charge of dissemination and forward planning for the European Commission’s COFRET project which synthesized existing knowledge base on carbon foot-printing of freight transport.
Speaker: Igor Davydenko, Ph.D., Scientist, Advisor Freight Transport and Logistics at TNO
Dr. Igor Davydenko is research scientist at TNO Sustainable Transport and Logistic department. Igor holds PhD in freight transport modelling and logistics (Technical University of Delft (2015)). In 2006 he obtained the degree of Professional Doctorate in Engineering from the Technical University of Eindhoven, having specialized in Logistics Management Systems, and M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. Igor has extensive experience with environmental aspects of freight transport and logistics. Igor has been working on COFRET project since the moment of it inception in 2009, when COFRET consortium was formed and the project was designed. Igor has written / co-authored a number of scientific papers on standardization of emissions calculations and on development of general CO2 estimation methodology. Igor’s research on logistics chain models contributes to the understanding of environmental impacts of the freight and logistics systems. Igor has a broad experience with EU FP6, FP7 and EU service contract projects. Igor has been involved in such projects, as REORIENT, PROMIT, SMART-CM, RETRACK, SPECTRUM, COMCIS and other.
