The Zaragoza Logistics Center is pleased to invite you to the Second Session in this Academic year 2005-2006 at the Logistics Forum Discussion that is taking place in Avda. Gómez Laguna, 25, 1st floor at 12.30, on Thursday October 13th 2005, with the title:
INVENTORY MODELING AND OPTIMIZATION: A PRAGMATIC OVERVIEW

The Conference is in charge of Eugenio Cornacchia , Co-founder and Chief Scientist Tools Group at the Zaragoza Logistics Center

Eugenio Cornacchia is the Chief Scientist and co-founder of ToolsGroup (www.toolsgroup.com). After his MS degree in Operations Management from the Sloan School at MIT, Eugenio started at Draper Laboratories in Cambridge, MA, on a large project to re-design the logistic information system for Fiat spare parts. His successful approach to inventory modeling later led him to co-found ToolsGroup. Apart from his graduate degree at MIT, Eugenio holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Genoa University in Italy and a post-graduate diploma in Operations Research from E. Mattei School, Milan, Italy

His talk will focus on inventory modeling for distribution intensive industries. More specifically, he will talk about concepts such as stochastic inventory optimization, modeling forecast uncertainty for inventory optimization and inventory positioning in multi-location systems.
