CSCMP and Zaragoza Logistics Center invite you to this event at IE Business School, where Professor Yossi Sheffi will discuss how Logistics Clusters deliver value and generate growth.

In his book professor Sheffi explains the benefits offered by logistics clusters in an economy seriously affected by recession, including the generation of job opportunities for low-qualified workers, locally concentrated and often not able to be relocated. These clusters allow what is rare in today´s economy: real success stories.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Yossi SheffiYossi Sheffi is an internationally recognized expert in Supply Chain Management, as well as the Director and Systems Engineering Professor at the Center for Transportation and Logistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Throughout his career he has worked with lead global companies. Being a dynamic entrepreneur he has founded five companies since 1987. Under his leadership the CTL has launched numerous research and development programs around the globe joining efforts of industry, academic and public institutions, resulting in significant growth for the regions.

Dr. Sheffi has led the international expansion of the CTL by creating the MIT Global SCALE Network, connecting top Supply Chain R+D centers all over the world. Founded in 2003 by creating the Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC), it today expands over four continents, including locations in Colombia and Malaysia.

Multiple institutions have recognized professor Sheffi’s outstanding career, both in academia and as entrepreneur.

His contribution to the internationalization of Aragón through the ZLC granted him the International Price of Aragón in 2009. He is founder and distinguished member of the ZLC, and doctor honoris causa by the University of Zaragoza since 2010.
