"Replenishment Policies for Decaying Inventory Systems with Random Deal Offerings"
Abstract
In this study we consider the perishable inventory system in the presence of purchasing price discounts (constant discount price) offered at random points in time. We assume that the decay rate is constant and proportional to inventory on hand. We provide a complete analytical treatment of the model and optimization results on the policy parameters assuming a continuous review system. We also examine the impact of perishability on replenishment and stocking decision.
