Their talk will focus on:
- How to choose and implement the best option for managing a warehouse (Angel Plou)
- SILS Centres. Process requirements and IT solutions. (Chema Guallar)
The seminar will focus on the analysis and identification of the main factors involved in the WMS solutions currently available. After a general description of these elements, focal point will be located on the requirements for logistic centers dedicated to sequencing on automotive production business.
During the first presentation we will review the landscape of WMS systems in Europe and we will analyze the tendencies and main requirements a WMS needs to cover in today´s business . We will also identify the criteria for selecting between an ERP or a BoB solution pending on warehouse characteristics and finally, we will identify, based on SILO /EDS product, how a WMS solve the requirements of a full automated warehouse in a real example .
The second presentation will describe the SILS (Supply In-Line Sequence) process flow requirements related with material in OEM manufacturer (automobile industry), how Tier-1 and Tier-2 will cooperate to minimize stocks in process and assure delivery-on-time to assembly plants. We take a look on market solutions using two approaches and perspectives; 1st from the vision of automobile manufacturers: how are they organizing their suppliers; 2nd from the suppliers mall centers, materials push-pull flow.
Conference in charge of Mr. Angel Plou, who is the responsible of the Systems Area for the Logistics of Warehouses at EDS. He is Industrial Engineer by the University of Zaragoza. APICS Certificate (American Production and Inventory Control Society). He’s responsible of introducing warehouse systems management for customers such as Telefónica, Henkel, Iberica, Opel, Danone or Novartis. He is also the Product Manager for the trading and development of the Warehouses product management at EDS SILO.
Mr. Chema Guallar is EDS specialist for WMS solutions within the automotive environment. Project manager for implementation of SILO/SILS in customer such as ILPA, SSM or CORTASA, he has also participated in the developing of the control system for Opel plant floor, he has got more than 15th years of experience in warehousing and sequencing projects
