Gerardo Pelayo is manager of strategic services at Entercoms.
He is a supply chain professional motivated by applied research, incorporating a systems perspective towards situation mapping and problem solving. He has a special interest on process design and optimization and the coordination of incentives between supply chain participants. His research focus has been on the effect of contract and structural design within healthcare supply chains; particularly he analyzes the relationship between pharmaceutical manufacturers and health-payers during the introduction process of new drugs aimed at treating chronic conditions. He has presented his research at major international academic conferences and has taught multiple supply chain courses in the master and executive programs at the Zaragoza Logistics Center, both in Spanish and English. Additionally, he is a research collaborator for the Center of Latin-American Logistics Innovation, Mexico.

Gerardo received his B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering, with minor in Systems Engineering from Monterrey Tech (ITESM, Mexico); and his M. Eng. and Ph.D. in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the MIT-Zaragoza Logistic s Program, at Zaragoza Logistics Center (Spain). As a doctoral student, he spent time at MIT, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, University of Pompeu Fabra, and McGill University. Before joining academia, Gerardo held multiple internal and external consulting roles in Mexico and Canada, mostly related to situation diagnostic, process improvement, and execution strategy.
