Dr. Gültekin Kuyzu

Professor of Supply Chain Management at the MIT-Zaragoza Program and Director of the PhD Summer Academy

Dr. Gültekin Kuyzu is Professor of Supply Chain Management and PhD Summer Academy Director at the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program. He is also Research Affiliate at the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics (CTL).

He received his Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2007, and his B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2002.

His research focuses on quantitative methods for the design and management of logistics and supply chain operations; such as collaborative logistics, transportation procurement auctions, inventory routing, real-life vehicle routing, workforce routing and scheduling, network design, and production planning. His research has been published in journals such as Transportation Science, Transportation Research Part B: Methodological, and Computers & Operations Research.

Prior to joining ZLC, he was a faculty member in the Department of Industrial Engineering at TOBB University of Economics and Technology in Ankara, Turkey. He is the co-founder of a software start-up focusing on the development of planning tools for logistics operations. Previously, he worked for four years at Agility, a leading global third-party logistics company, where he developed optimization-based decision support systems and other supply chain solutions for internal and external customers around the world.
