Laura Wagner is an assistant professor of Operations Management  at Catolica Lisbon School of Business & Economics. Her research interest is in the areas of inventory control, assortment planning and pricing. Her primary focus is on how firms’ post purchase obligations impact upon their operational performance.

She has so far looked at two such obligations, namely product returns arising from consumer dissatisfaction, and responsibilities arising from deceptive counterfeit. For her research “Optimal Procurement Policies for Goods from Genuine and Potentially Counterfeit Sources“, she was honoured with the “Best PhD Project Award” at ICORES 2014 Conference. As a doctoral student, she spent time at MIT, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and University of Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.

Prior to her PhD, Laura received an MBA from the University of Sankt Gallen in Switzerland and ESADE in Barcelona, as well as a Master in Mechanical Engineering and Economics at the Technical University of Graz in Austria. In addition, she has gained business and management experience in several industries, ranging from logistics consulting and product management to test and program management at leading companies including Bosch Rexroth, Protema Logistics Consulting and ThyssenKrupp Presta AG.
