During the Chair, global tendencies of SCM were analyzed by international business and academic experts.
Contributions were also made by the Rector of the University of Zaragoza, Manuel López, the Director of the Chair, Jesús Royo, and Yossi Sheffi, acclaimed international expert in SCM and Director and Systems Engineering Professor at the Center for Transportation and Logistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Dr. Sheffi put forward several global tendencies of the sector for consideration, while Antonio Mansilla, Director of Kellogg’s in Spain and Portugal, Enrique Montañés, Vicepresident of Logistics in Chep Europe, Javier Antorán, Responsible for SCM in ABB, and Pedro Provedo, Director of SC in Cap Gemini, presented SCM tendencies from the business viewpoint. From both the above analyses, the tendency of externalization was highlighted with the emphasis on high quality value-added service and technological approach.
The fundamental objective of this Chair is to strengthen the investigation and diffuse knowledge in the areas of sustainable and innovative logistics and SCM.
