Last weekend, 27 students from more than 100 applicants from 40 different countries participated in the finals of the Vestas Winnovation Challenge 2012 in Aarhus, Denmark. Finalists came from top engineering masters programs at Harvard, MIT, University Sicence Malaysia, TU Delft, DTU, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Zaragoza Logistics Center.
Vivek Radhakrishnan, a student of the MIT Zaragoza Master in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Zaragoza Logistics Center, in Zaragoza, Spain, won the prize for the Supply Chain category.
Master’s candidate from India, Vivek, was selected as best at resolving which supply chain strategy and tools would have to be implemented to increase quality in Vestas supply chain – from product development to the scope of delivering the product to the customer in time and at the expected high quality, taking into consideration the challenges Vestas faces in the global market of renewable energy.
Three other students of the MIT Zaragoza masters also participated in the finals, Kristin Bautista (from Philippines), Sergio Tovar (from Colombia) and Andres Vadillo (from Spain). This is the second consecutive year that the MIT Zaragoza Masters students have made it to the finals in this annual contest, organized by Vestas.
